We are currently conducting a qualitative interview-based study to understand the
experiences of people donating and receiving embryos as part of a directed donation
programme. Directed or known donation is where recipients and donors connect and
meet with each other prior to treatment. Very little research has been conducted on
the experiences of using embryo donation, and even less is known about directed
embryo donation. The study uses participatory research methods and is in
collaboration with Em.Power with Moxi, a directed embryo donation platform based
in the USA. The project has been co-designed by ReproFam (Prof Jadva and Dr
Zadeh) and Em.Power (Maya Grobel, Jen Vesbit and Cynthia Jimes). Interviews
have been conducted with 20 donors and 20 recipients, and analysis of the data is
currently underway.
A review of embryo donation can be found here:

and child adjustment. Fertility and sterility, 119(1), 11–14.
